The national minimum wage in the Czech Republic is CZK20,800.00 per month.

Medical Benefits

An employee who has been recognized to be temporarily unfit to work or on whom a quarantine has been imposed shall be entitled, during the first 14 calendar days to compensation for salary in the amount of 60% reduced average daily earning per working day. From the 15th calendar day, the employee is paid with a state health insurance benefit. In case of treatment of a child or other close person, unpaid leave is due, and employees are entitled to sickness insurance benefits for a defined period.

Probationary Periods

3 months maximum.for non manageurial position and up to 6 months for managerial positions. The probation period cannot be longer than half of the agreed employment period.

Termination Notice

Min. 2 months and commences on the first day of the calendar month following delivery of the notice.

under labour leasing contracts, notice periods are either 30 days or 14 days, depending on the reason for termination. Notice begins to run on the date when the notice is served on the other contracting party.

Severance

Employees are entitled to severance payment if the employee is terminated on the grounds of organiszational changes/redudancy or for health incapactiy due to an accident at work/occupational disease. It varies between 1 month to 12 months depending on the situation and length of employment.

Immigration and right to work checks are typically required for foreign workers to ensure they are legally authorized to work in the country. Medical examinations may also be required depending on the nature of the job, especially if health and safety regulations or job-specific health standards need to be met.
