King of Prussia, PA – March 7, 2022 – As recently announced by the American Payroll Association (APA), People2.0’s Director of Shared Services, Bruce Phipps, will serve a second term as APA president. A member of the APA since 1988 and a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Phipps will continue his presidency in light of leadership changes.
“I am excited for the opportunity to serve another term as APA President. This organization plans such an important role, and I’m honored to continue to my leadership,” said Phipps.
Phipps joined People2.0—the world’s largest global employer of record (EOR) and agent of record (AOR) services platform—in March 2020 and has been Director of Shared Services for almost 2 years. In his role, he is responsible for directing and managing all centralized transactional and operational activities supporting payroll and billing. He boasts a 45-year career as a payroll professional spanning many industries, from industrial valves to rehabilitation therapy services to database management.
In 2011, Phipps was named the APA’s “Payroll Man of the Year.” Over the next 10 years, Phipps served in several roles within the APA, including Education Grant Committee Chair and a Board of Advisors member for one of the organization’s regions, along with volunteering on other committees.
“Serving as APA President while in my role at People2.0 has allowed me to bring a unique perspective to the association,” he said. “My familiarity with the needs of companies providing contingent work, instead of traditional work arrangements, allows me to be the voice of an entire demographic that may otherwise have been overlooked. On the other hand, working within the APA allows me to provide fresh insight to the People2.0 clients we support every day.”
Phipps added, “As we return to in-person meetings in 2022, I want to meet as many members as I can. Additionally, I would be honored to attend our APA Chapters’ scheduled meetings to interact with our members.” Phipps second term will begin in May 2022.
