Concurrent Session on Payrolling and Independent Contractor Compliance

Jeff Nugent HeadshotTuesday, February 26, 11:45-12:45 PM

Jeff Nugent, President of People 2.0’s Global Contingent Workforce Solutions Division, is on a panel discussing, “Trends and Opportunities in Payrolling and Independent Contractor Compliance”

With potential and actual changes at the federal and state level relating to taxes, overtime, and sick and family leave entitlements, ensuring compliance becomes a challenge when employees are located in multiple US jurisdictions. Creating a payroll solution means complying with various layers of regulation, and a range of peripheral factors, and specifically the issue of worker misclassification, a main focus of legislators both in the US and globally. In this session, we will explore the legal and operational issues that payrolling and IC compliance firms face and look at the role technology will play as the market evolves.
